Jose Arrue Y Valle

Jose Arrue Y Valle (1885 - 1977) was active/lived in Spain.  Jose Arrue Y Valle is known for Portraying the characters and customs of the Basque Country.

Alberto Arrúe was a Spanish artist who specialized in portraying the characters and customs of the Basque Country. He began his training with Antonio María Lecuona and later completed it at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios with Guinea and Arámburu. 

In 1894, he was granted a scholarship to enter the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid, and subsequently made study trips to Rome, Paris, Marseilles, London, Bordeaux, and Argentina. Arrúe showed his work at various official exhibitions and galleries in Spain, France, and Argentina. 

He is currently represented in the Museo Provincial de Vitoria and the Diputación de Bizkaia, among other public and private collections. Arrúe died in 1944, a year after an important personal exhibition held in Bilbao.
